I once had pocket aces, and I was lucky enough when the other two aces came on the table (I was playing Texas Hold em).

My ex boyfriend was astonished ;)

And the hand before I had bluffed him alright, so he couldn't believe I wasn't bluffing this time :)

I really like this shot, I love playing poker. I think this shot worked well as a B&W shot if you had a red ace and a black ace i would probably prefer a colour version, but i am a sucker for B&W photos.

Yeah I purposely chose the black aces for that reason, thanks!

Unfortunately I am at my parents house for the next month so I dont have access to the original for awhile. But I will tell you that this was with the Nikkor 18-70mm lens with Hoya diopter filter attachments (close up set) so I could get that close to focus.

What does the diopter filter do? and what camera do you have? im just curious ;)
I got the 18-55mm lens, is the 18-70mm, people say that 18-70mm is WAY better than the 18-55mm, is there any truth in that?

I have a D70s. Diopter filters are kind of like Eyeglasses, they change the focal distance of whatever is in front of them. The ones I have make it so that I can focus much closer with the lense. I think the 18-70 is supposed to be much better than the 18-55 but I have only been doing the dSLR thing for a year now so I still have a lot to learn about it.

this concept is totally awesome.
I would be very interested in seeing this pic in color, because I think, with (for example) 2 red aces and red and black colored coins in the background the compositon'd say more! It's further a little blurred I guess, but I reaally love and faved it.

Absolutely beautiful shot.
I love the focus and the composition, the use of black and white and the content.
:) Great shot. Great work.

Thank you very much. It took while to get the composition so that I liked it and the black and white looks 200% better than the color.
